Fall Book Fair Sept. 6th-9th

We’re thrilled to invite our Eastbluff students to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair in our library! This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. The Book Fair will be open before school from 8:25am-8:40am, lunchtime and during designated class times with all purchases benefiting our school. We encourage you to visit Eastbluff's Scholastic homepage https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/eastbluffelemschool1 for more information including setting up the cash free payment system eWallet as an easy way for your child to make purchases.

We are still in need of volunteers to help run the fair and would love your help! Volunteers need to be cleared through the NMUSD Raptor system. If you are new to the school, you will need to register with the Raptor system and if you volunteered last year, you will need to update your status. Once cleared, sign up here to help at the book fair. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0448A9AD2DA0F58-eastbluff.

Battle Of the Books is Back!

Calling all 4th & 5th grade ravenous readers! Battle of the Books(BOB) is an extracurricular club open to 4th and 5th graders. It is a wonderful opportunity to read and discuss interesting, quality literature. Each year 20 books are selected from America’s Battle of the Books reading incentive program.

https://www.battleofthebooks.org/book-list/medium-20-book-list-5-6-grades-2022-23.php

Since most of our Eastbluff readers are above the national average, the selections for the 2022-2023 school year were pulled from the 5th/6th grade list. Each year the book selection provides a variety of themes and reading levels. Parents may choose to screen books that will be an appropriate reading level for their child.

In the spring, the conclusion of the BOB reading club will be an exciting competition with other BOB clubs in the area.12-15 of our club readers will represent Eastbluff, however, participation in the competition is optional.

On Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm, we will host a Zoom meeting to introduce the program and answer any questions. Mrs. Krolopp’s zoom number is 943 692 2260.

New Families Meet & Greet

Eastbluff Elementary PTA invites you to join us for our New Family Meet & Greet Breakfast on Thursday, September 15th at 9am, location TBA. Come say hello to Principal Cheryl Beck and get to know other new families and PTA Board members. We know starting at a new school can be overwhelming with lots of unknowns, so why not come meet some parents who might share similar experiences or can help to answer any questions or concerns you may have? Or come by just to meet some really great parents! And although we'd love for the little ones to join, this breakfast event is for parents only. We'll have more fun events for the whole family throughout the year. We hope to see you there!
